Geoduck farms have been set up in the Puget Sound tidelands, which are areas covered by the intertidal zone. On the farms, geoducks live in plastic pipes. WebSome algae and animals benefit from sand scour. Mussel beds are torn up by waves and debris. Perennial brown algae are pruned back but survive. Coralline red algae grow lush in winter.
